Residents
of Harare got pissed of by the city council banning of chicken rearing
of which most of them are the ones who are not employed and its their
only source of income.
According to the article in the NewsDay of today Council health director Prosper Chonzi said:
“No poultry house shall be placed nearer than three metres from any boundary or nearer than six metres from premises used for human habitation,”
“No person shall keep any poultry by reasons of continued crowing, quacking clucking, gobbling or like noise tends to destroy the comfort of neighborhood.”
He said those found on the wrong side of the law would be prosecuted.
To me this shows how the City Council is inconsiderate. If these live projects are banned then how are they suppose to curb the economic challenges?

People should go and do poultry in places where there is a lot of free space especially rural areas or farms. imagine everyone in town with a fowl run the smell, diseases related with chickens. The council is justified.
